A04C Tower Crane – Trolley Jib – Remote Controlled – Novice/Foundation Course (3 days)

Course Criteria:
**Please note that you must have achieved your Health & Safety Test for Operatives within the past 2 years in order to be permitted to take your CPCS tests.**
This course is for anyone who requires training in operating a Tower Crane with a trolley jib (remote controlled). This course was formerly known as A63 Pedestrian Operated Tower Crane.
It will give you foundation training and assessment in slinging and signalling and is suitable if you have received no formal instruction previously. This course is an ideal entry point into the lifting industry.

Course structure:
Days One to Three:
- Theory test tuition and preparation for CPCS Theory Test
- How to operate the crane safely and efficiently.
- Understanding Safe Load Indicators and Overload Warning Devices.
- Responding to and recognising the standard signals for controlling crane operations.
- Understanding the principles of safe slinging, load balance, and lifting gear capabilities.
- Calculating loads and crane capacity.
- Understanding the effects of the working radius on the capacity of the crane.
- Hazard recognition and awareness.
- Minor adjustments and routine maintenance in accordance with the manufacturers and employers instructions.
- Understanding the purpose of counterweights and how to secure, check, and maintain them.
- Fault finding procedures.
Day Three:
- CPCS Theory and Practical Testing.
The course runs for 3 days (2.5 days of training and 0.5 days for technical tests).
The price includes VAT, registration, and CPCS card fees.

Please note that if you do not pass the CPCS Theory Test then you are not permitted to attempt the CPCS Practical Test. Additional fees apply if re-tests are required.
